1940's Weekend
G, M and I went to the 1940's weekend events today. We walked into town and got the free vintage bus to the station (donations gladly accepted). Then caught a steam train to Weybourne where we stopped for a drink and cake as it's relatively quiet there. Then on by steam train to Sheringham, where we walked down to the seafront and back - it was incredibly busy in Sheringham and very bright sunshine which made taking photos a real challenge due to blown highlights and deep shadows, plus people squinting. Back on the steam train and another trip on a vintage bus where we bumped into pensionspoet and J who were looking great dressed up (I didn't get a photo unfortunately as they stayed on the bus for Sheringham).
I also went to the vintage stalls and entertainment in the field next to the station and a wander round the stalls in town. I had a lovely spam sandwich and then went to listen to the D Day Darlings (see Extra). Another really lovely day, although you're best paying for the train which is quite expensive at £16,20 in advance, but a platform ticket is now £5 per platform and there are 3 platforms taking part!!! I've added four more photos as Extras including one of G and M all dressed up and looking fab! I'm hoping to do a favourite walk from Sheringham Park to Weybourne station tomorrow and hope to get some better close up portraits if the conditions are more favourable.
