In the forest

We did a little jaunt to the hills to look for mushrooms and enjoy the budding fall. It was foggy for starts, but we got to see a bit of the sunrise on the way. The fishermen were already on the river at daybreak. 
I found exactly one chanterelle  - our recent rain showers must not have been enough to encourage the mushrooms to pop up. Had a nice time in the woods anyway; the vine maples are turning color. The main blip is looking up at some rather pale vine maple leaves. The first extra I liked as well. The second extra is of the river in the morning, taken in Columbia City.
