We’re leaving on a Jet Plane
Up at 630; breakfasted, coffee, scrambled eggs. Quick bimble round the garden to pick flowers to keep them flowering while we are gone.
Then it was on the train, into a taxi and then checking in.
That was all good.
First flight was great up and down.
Lunch was Gordon Ramsey’s in Terminal five. Vair nice.
Then 7.5 hours of cattle herding. Yeuk.
But we arrived. Got through customs - 40’gates 6 guys on duty. 4 doing Americans 2 doing imports (us)...
Got an Uber. The worlds most quiet Uber driver. Did not say a word. All the way!
Then we got to hotel and reckoned we had booked ourselves into wrong hotel - Vair big and Vair posh.
As we stood at check in I turn to gaze round gigantic foyer and glanced at man standing behind me.... thought for a second. He looks familiar and then noticed that crazy grin and squealed with delight when I realised it was my Boy - who had just been texting me about the horrible weather in Asheville WHERE HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!!
he is a bloody buggar and now he has got both me and his dad with surprise appearances!!!! Man in reception was grinning like looney as I explained My Boy a I haven’t seen him for two years.
And then there was J. lovely lovely J and it was just like we had known her forever ... looked exactly like she did over FaceTime - tall and willowy and gorgeous! Dang we all squealed and laughed and hugged and then came upstairs
We decided a beer was in order - so we tidied up (by that I mean I had a poo) brushed my hair and headed back downstair...
By this time (10.00 pm local) 2am home time - we had been up for 20 hours. Amazingly - there was a little craft beer pub down the road from the hotel. And we went in, had beer and BRUSSEL SPROUTS!! I had a meal of brussel sprouts bacon and Parmesan - the rest of them had journal food!
We laughed and chatted for a couple of hours and then I shut down! We’re
Meeting up this morning (Boy is using his platinum member status elsewhere) - and seeing what Washington has to offer us!
See extra :)
