Explorers Garden and Dunkeld
This morning we visited the Explorers Garden in Pitlochry (despite the receptionist in the hotel showing a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the garden at this time of year). It looked wonderful in its autumn colours and I particularly enjoyed reading the short biographies of all the Scottish explorers who had introduced the plants - especially the details of their untimely deaths. Afterwards we went to Dunkeld and walked to the Loch of the Lowes and then into Dunkeld itself. On our way back home we stopped off in Edinburgh where we met up with Steve and Kirsty, who gave me lovely birthday presents (it was my birthday yesterday). It’s been a great weekend
