The banners at Manly beach
I caught a 30 minute ferry ride over to Manly Beach from Circular Quay today. I love the ferries that run around Sydney, they are a great way to see the city from strange angles, as well as saving your legs from the long walks required around the city. The trip was terribly rough and the ferry was lurching from side to side and seemed to be nose diving off the waves... I loved it! I don't think it's usually like this but the sea was a little on the rough side today. Manly is beautiful and well worth the trip over. I'm not really one for the beach so I didn't go to sun bathe, more to walk along the promenade and have a look in all the lovely shops they have there. I would have gone for a surf lesson, but last time I tried I was genuinely awful, (not to mention I felt like the oldest member of the "Groovy Gang") so I'll leave it to the people with the strength and coordination to pull it off I think! Tomorrow - The Blue Mountains...
