Nothing happens here...

They made me do it...

I set out Blipping on this trip determined not to show a pic of the bridge/opera house/kangaroo. Then on a quick whiz around the harbour from Circular Quay to Kirribillee, North Sydney and Neutral Bay this compilation presented itself. I'm not in awe of the Opera House, we've got the Glasgow Armadillo but the ferries are special! So here's the flag on our Harbourcat, the ferryboat Borrowdale and that 'house'.

Borrowdale is one of the First Fleet Class built in 1985 and named after one of the eleven vessels in the original First Fleet. They primarily operate on inner harbour routes. The original Borrowdale was a fully rigged wooden sailing ship, the youngest of the three Storeships or victualler. She was built on the River Wear in Sunderland, England for the owners Leightons & Co in 1785, two years before the trip to Botany Bay.

At one time Sunderland was the biggest shipbuilding town in the world. To go to Sunderland and walk along the banks of the River Wear today you'd have no idea of the unique position it once held. In the 1990's the local council decided a glass centre epitomised the City's historic and recent international fame. Well I suppose a Pyrex dish has its uses. Dear oh dear.
