we're breaking the journey back with a 2 night stay in a little village in the Deux-Sevres region, just north of Poitiers. At our hosts suggestion we visited Airvault today where they were having a 'patrimone' day with various free tours, open buildings and gardens. We had a tour of the church and were shown their organ, one of only 2 in France that operate with a cylinder, a bit like a pianola. We then visited a private garden with a lovely view over the town. The owner recommended we visit a nearby Chateau , at St Loup sur Thouet. The extra is a view from their little 'summerhouse' .
