Before the talk
Winsford organised a great evening out for me and Ridgeback13 today.
First we met at the National Gallery for a fascinating lecture about Velazquez. We 'studied' the artist last year when we read The vanishing man by Laura Cumming with the other members of our book group. The lecture content added to our knowledge and will prove excellent prep for our 'field trip' to the Prado in Madrid this November.
Afterwards the three of us walked up the road to Twenty Princes Street for supper, and a lovely post-summer catch-up. We were very restrained when it came to pudding: just one chocolate fondant was requested (with three spoons).
Earlier in the day I put away my summer clothes and brought out my winter wear :-(
My blip is of the glasses all arranged for the drinks reception at the gallery after the talk. We gave this a miss in favour of a large glass of wine each at the restaurant with our meal.
Exercise today: 10 mile bike ride; walking (9,475 steps).
