Jersey Day One

We had a fairly leisurely departure from the house about 8am, leaving Edinburgh about 11am. Archie went out with Wendy at the same time, so he probably didn’t even notice that we'd gone when he came back. He may have noticed by now. We've had regular updates all day.

It's a different climate down here - warm! We've just been for a walk along St Ouen's Beach to see the wee White House - you know you're in Jersey when you see that. Or a Jersey cow, which I haven’t seen yet.

JR is intending walking round the whole island in this her significant year. Not all at once, though it can be done, apparently. She'll take a few days to do it, and I will join her on some of the flat bits. It was either that or a Munro, and they sound like too much hard work.

Tomorrow she and Anne are tackling part of the northern path, which is quite tough going, I am reliably informed. I will not be accompanying them on that bit.
