Went to see a film early evening, a one-off screening of 'A Northern Soul'. Ostensibly a documentary about one man's attempt to bring hip hop to schoolkids during Hull's year as City Of Culture in 2017, it was also obviously about much more - like working-class empowerment, Hull's history, civic pride, poverty, ambition, the meaning of success, the drudge of the working week and....some excellent accents.

I'm from there, I understood every word of course. It did however remind me of a Lou Reed interview I saw once. Where Lou admitted that he barely understood a word producer Mick Ronson said to him during the recording of his 'Transformer' album. Or as Mick would have pronounced it...
