Life goes on
It seems wrong in the circumstances but life goes on. In spite of the events of the weekend, the rubbish still needs taking out, we still need to eat, Audrey still needs feeding, my business has to keep running, the bills still need paying etc.
It feels wrong somehow. I put Coronation Street on earlier as I fed Audrey and caught myself laughing out loud at a storyline. I can't describe how it felt other than wrong, inappropriate....callous even...given what is happening right now.
Thankfully, there is some good news. My mother-in-law's condition has stabilised, last we heard. Her heart rate is back to normal as are her oxygen levels although her speech is still affected. And they have stopped the epileptic seizures using special drugs. We find out more later tonight once the doctor has visited her on the ward.
I have fallen in love with my husband all over again in the past few days. He is a wonderful man with the kindest heart. He is keeping everyone going (despite how he must be feeling inside). He is there for his mother first and foremost; sitting by her bedside and keeping her calm. He is supporting his Step Dad, even checking he's eating enough vegetables etc! Then he's been visiting his Grandparents, keeping them informed and taking care of his poorly Grandma. As well as worrying about Audrey and I. And in turn, we are worrying about him.
It is times like this that you gain perspective. Families are everything. We are nothing without them.
(Blip pic taken on the milk run earlier - an ironic location for the Off Licence hoarding, next to that particular headline).
