Textures
Today I went for a WidWed shot (subject 'metal', kindly hosted by steveng). I quite often do this challenge because shooting wide takes me out of my comfort zone, and today 'metal' was an additional thought provoker.
The bronze of Elizabeth Frink's Horse and Rider is in Winchester's Upper High Street. There is another copy in London's West End.
When I first moved to Hampshire there was a much loved holm oak tree standing here. Eventually it had to be removed (disease, I think) and was replace by this bronze and a young lime tree. Now the lime branches overshadow the horse so much you can walk past without noticing it at all. What I find interesting is the comparison of textures - the marks in the bronze and the shapes of the leaves. They seem to have grown together.
Okay, that's enough blather from me. I'm out tonight so hearts will be given in the morning. They will be hearts for the very last WildflowerWeek and will go to:

Thank you so much to all who entered this week - in fact, to everyone who's entered throughout the summer. I think it's been a blast and I hope you've enjoyed it too
Have a happy evening xx
