Robin's pincushion
I went up to the butterfly reserve on Morn Hill later on this afternoon, hoping for a last butterfly shot from there before autumn sets in too hard. I walked the full length of the ridge/reserve and in all that space I only saw a couple of browns. All the others have gone. For about a month now we've only had whites round here. What has happened?
So instead you have a robin's pincushion looking fabulous in the sunlight. Isn't it something to do with the larvae of gall wasps? It always grows/develops on wild roses. Anyway, apart from the sky, it was the only good colour up there, the rest is looking a little drab.
Happy Thursday evening xx
