Slim Antique Walking Stick
A new acquisition to my collection. As a practicing rabologist, such things happen. This stick is malacca wood and is a common and very strong wood for such purposes. It comes from Sumatra in Indonesia. I have no details on the history of this stick. I'll have to do some digging. It has a silver cap and three silver bands. No hallmarks and no initials. There is a small hole between two bands. A screw likely sat there at one time holding a leather strap. It is also missing the ferrule at the bottom. My instincts say this is from the mid-to-late 1800s but it could be as recent as the 1940s, but unlikely.
