After the Rain

We woke up to torrential rain and it was very windy, the dogs were desperate to get out but as soon as I opened the back door and they saw the rain and felt the wind, they ran back in and refused to go out!  They had no choice in the matter though and eventually they went out.

Alan and I went to the tip with the car load of junk that we sorted out yesterday, and mum did a bit more ironing which I then finished off when we got back.  We had a table booked for lunch at our favourite restaurant Al Fresco and the sky cleared just in time for us going out.  Sadly the owners are retiring and the restaurant is closing next Sunday, it's being taken over but I was chatting to one of the waiters and he said it's going to be more 'pubby'.  It's such a shame as it's a special place to go and has one of the best locations being right on the sea front in an art deco building that's all glass with almost 360 degree views.  Somehow it won't quite be the same and we'll miss it.

On our way home we stopped off at the marina and went for a walk along the boardwalk, it was lovely and felt quite warm in the sun so we sat on a bench for a while and enjoyed the view.  Then back home for a relaxing night in front of the TV.
