Blippers emergent
Holy moly - what a day! The men, Himself and Bill, headed off to find another ancestral home shortly after 9.30, and us girls wend a leisurely route to Castletownshend, our venue for the blipmeet. A 40 minute journey took us about 2 hours with much stopping off. We gathered in the grounds of the castle where the sun blazed and we were joined by Soletrader and her friend Jo all the way from Kildare and Dublin, Travellersjoy, Bat, Cheeryoscuro, Hasitscloud, RP1 and Madgewildfire who turned out to be a chap! The men joined us with reports of not only finding the ancestral home but a holy well I didn't know about - an a good one! An excellent lunch was taken and thus fuelled we visited the church (Harry Clarke windows) travelled down in convoy to Castlehaven to view the sea , the old church - and yes, the holy well! Can you spot it? And brownie points for whoever guesses what is enthralling the blippers in the extra. We then ventured out once more and did a steep and windswept climb up to a ringfort with magnificent views in every direction. We all finally dispersed and our party headed home via Bantry and fish and chips! More distractions on the way home as a magnificent sunset materialised and by the time we'd reached the top of the mountain the full moon was rising! I think it's the equinox. What a day - and here is the scene now, just for Mike - the kitchen table! It's gone very quiet.
