Christchurch ....

.... walk!
Today was a glorious day not a cloud in the sky . We took the bus from Bournemouth to Christchurch . It was an interesting journey , alighting the bus at the beginning of the Convent walk ( the top left hand blip is of the remains of the convent) . The footpath was opened by the mayor Christchurch on June 22 1911 to commit ate the coronation of King George 5th and Queen Mary . A nearby oak was planted as a sapling by the Mayoress and the plaque erected to commemorate the centenary on June 22nd 2011. We walked by the river watching lots of water fowl and swans on the way .
At the end of the path we reached Mill Place also mentioned in the doomsday book of 1086 . This was the property of the canons of Holy Trinity Church . It has medical stonework and Tudor 18th century brickwork, the place was used for Fuiling ( cleaning and thickening ) cloth also used for grinding corn until 1908.
We caught the bus back to Bournemouth at 3.30pm . The men also took a boat around the Christchurch harbour .

Grateful .... for a wonderful day
