On the horizon
I do like this cattle yard that sits on a slight rise near the walkway on the coastline in an area called The Kumaras. Pre European Maori grew kumara or sweet potato here in the light sandy soil.
I hadn't been to this part of town for a while so today I remedied that. Dogs are allowed to be walked along the path as long as they are on a lead when birds are around. Many birds nest on the sand spit here including banded dotterels so it is an important place.
I went north today though and saw very little of interest. There is always someone though who wants to talk photography and cameras and I sent a chap and his wife on their way with the Blipfoto website to look at.
I am becoming more involved with other things and so I need someone to take my place. I am becoming a part time blipper especially with comments and this will happen more and more.
Some extras just to show some different compositions. Less sky, more bullrush in foreground and so on. There can be many imagesfrom the one scene.
The weather has turned cold and showery, typical spring.
