Home turf

I took a few photos today - an attractive bay at low tide, the Arran hills looming above Bute, a very hairy caterpillar, a sundog (go on - look it up) - but this one suggested itself to me as I opened the boot of the car in our drive-in to get the messages out. I think it simply attracted me as a composition - that dramatic dark line of cloud, the sun on the leaves that are just turning and the dark evergreens, the contrasting shapes of the trees and the attractive white of the house at the end of the lane.

I used to have an app on the computer that would do interesting effects with the pixels on a photo; I wish I still had it as this suggests Van Gogh to me ...
