GWR 4270
SATURDAY
A steady 5km run up to the moor and back this morning.
A drive over to the Dark Side this afternoon.
First stop was Littleborough and Hollingworth Lake to work out where exactly I need to go tomorrow morning.
Second stop was the East Lancashire Railway. The main photo is GWR 4270 being moved to the front of the carriages. The extra is the same loco pulling the 16:30 from Heywood Station to Bury (Bolton Street).
Built by the Great Western Railway for the heavy coal trains of the Welsh Valleys, 4270 is normally found hauling passenger trains on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway.
I continue to be impressed by the quality of photos on the iPhone X
