Life In Wales

Big Foot

We were up and out early this morning as we had to check out of our apartment by 10am, and I wanted to have a walk along the beach before we left, then Tamzin invited us to join them for breakfast at Sea Spray.

I was very organised and we were packed up and everything was in the car by 9.30am, we walked to the opposite end of the beach where we found the flip flop shower which is brilliant!  Alan stood next to it so you get the idea of the size of it.  We then walked back to Sea Spray at our end of the beach and met Tamzin and her family  where I tried a slightly more unusual breakfast - nasi goreng which is an Indonesian dish of fried rice, vegetables, a spicy sauce and a fried egg on top.  Sophie had it the other day and it looked really nice, so I wanted to try it, and it was nice but I found it a bit rich for breakfast and there was a lot of it!

We said our goodbyes and set off for home at 11am, the traffic was awful to start with, with quite a lot of delays so Alan found some alternate routes, we had a quick pit stop at Starbucks to get a panini and to use the toilet and were on our way again, finally getting home at about 5.30pm.  Then we had a quick turnaround as we had tickets to see Dave Gorman at the Brighton Dome.

If you don't know him, he's a comedian, author and TV presenter, and tonight was one of his stand up comedy shows - he's very quick and very funny!  We booked our tickets back in January and had the middle seats on the front row, literally right in front of the stage, and it didn't take him long to pick Alan out of the crowd, it was so funny!  Alan had a white shirt on, and Dave said he looked like a 'suit', then he picked another guy who was dressed in a casual jacket - he proceeded to joke about the 'suit', but it was all in good fun and he came down to Alan and bumped fists with him to show there were no hard feelings.  Then later on in the show there was an article about Dave having a 'fist fight' with a member of the audience lol!  It was a great night, and I don't think I've heard Alan laugh so much at something in a long time, so it was a great end to a fab weekend!
