Beijing Day - 4
Last day in Beijing today and first on the agenda was a visit to the Forbidden City.
Boy were there a lot of people there today. We reckoned as it was a long weekend coming up because of mid-Autumn festival, a lot of people were traveling ...
It was sooo different from the last time we were here in the winter. We were all amazed by the blue skies which are almost unheard of in Beijing. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for everyone. I think people have been very blessed with the pollution being practically non-existent. Our pics would usually not look like this at all.
Our guide gave us plenty of information about life in the Forbidden City and the various buildings. Good to hear it all again.
Later some of the ladies wanted to do a bit of shopping, and as live in this part of the world and have access to it all, some of us opted to get back to the hotel as we were flying out late afternoon.
We said our goodbyes to everyone and Team Hong Kong headed down the highway straight into a standstill traffic jam! Something we never experience in HK!!! Not us in DB anyway.
Thankfully it cleared in time and our driver was actually driving in the hard shoulder ... hey ... when in Rome!
Home safe and sound and amazingly no delays leaving Beijing airport ...
It's been a wonderful trip and conference and I feel grateful that wives are invited to be part of it all.
