Good work, 007

Our first unaided lock. After leaving the river Saone we turned into the Rhone-Rhine canal via a lock, where the lock keeper tied off the role for us, checked our paperwork and issued us with a remote control to use at the many automatic locks on the canal. There are 52 in total, though we don't plan to see them all.

Our control unit is no. 007 which is mildly pleasing.

No lines have been dangled yet though there are plans for some fishing tomorrow morning as we plan only to move a couple of kilometres to the town of Dole, which looks worth spending some time on.
