On the Dole
My first impression of Dole was that it is impossibly beautiful - and so it is, down by the canal in the "Louis Pasteur area", up in the town, less so. It is however a town full of history, of restaurants and of flowers. There are flowers everywhere. Also cats. Not certain what the cat connection is about but I plan to find out.
We are being good and not eating out tonight but we plan to call in on the way back if there is room at the marina for us and try one of the many good restaurants here. Today we settled for coffee and patisserie.
This photo is of the old tannery area and there is a preserved tannery with a small exhibition. The tannery seems to have belonged to a Pasteur, possibly Louis's dad but I need to read up on that. Next door is a crêperie, where the chef patron is named Thierry Pasteur.
