Pineview

We were supposed to have a relatively cheap room with a view of the coastal pines - the pineta. But the hotel was relatively empty and reception gave us a room with this view of the island of Pianosa - one of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.

We met up with the nice Italian couple - Luigi and Giuseppina - we had met on our first visit. It was nice to chat and lounge around, swim, and observe the commerce of the beach all presided over by the watchful but unobtrusive lifeguards.

I took a few photos later in the evening of a moth that visited the geraniums on our balcony (see extra).
