Wetnesday

Today was such a grey, rainy day. I needed to go and buy bread in the afternoon but I just couldn't muster the courage to leave the house and so I contented myself with this little library that I'm building up. Finished Lolita and La Mare du Diable. The first really was incredibly, sorry Sand but you kind of paled into insignificance when put next the linguistic prowess that Lolita provides.

This morning I had the class that didn't turn up last week. Today, I had one pupil. I kind of put my foot in it by asking about her family, she'd had a pretty troubled past but she seemed to like me and we had a nice chat in French after the lesson. She's never going to learn much English but for her it's much more about confidence than anything else. Speaking to her was quite harrowing actually. I'll always be pretty good at school and it was interesting to meet someone who's had the opposite experience to me. Next I had a BTS class, and for the first time ever they were silent. Very confusing!

The afternoon was for laziness, napping and reading (should have been doing my essay!) and for Skype with Ella and Martha & Joanna. Lovely.
