Diary of an Edinburgher

Market Day

Market Day! The others went off quite early, but I was a bit slower. Mind you, they were easy to spot when I did arrive. They were laden.

A nice wee market place, lots of beautiful produce, of course. The girls had bought two big bags of goodies by the time I found them. Some of it was for a yummy breakfast, the rest for tonight. Looking forward to tea tonight with two chefs in the professional kitchen. Should be good!

This is a very upmarket wee town - full of nice shops. We remembered it as such when we visited in the 90s. JR & Sue have walked round just about every street, with Sue buying several items. JR has just been looking...

I had a shorter dander round town, then a sit down in the market place with a beer and my Kindle. Though I don’t actually get much reading done - too much to look at.

We met up again, and I came back to Sue's luxury accommodation, while the girls continued their browsing, as the shops were open again by this time.

I was fair puggled, so I had a snooze. My knees have not improved any. In fact, sometimes I think they're worse. Unfortunately, I couldn’t pop to the doctor when I was home because it was a weekend. Still, it's an excuse not to go shopping. Though in this town it does actually look quite pleasant.

I have been assisting the two chefs with my speciality - chopping dainty wee carrot sticks (Archie would be going mad). Looking forward to tea/supper/dinner. We had trouble with the cork (not used to them any more), but fortunately a neighbour happened by and we grabbed him to lend his strength. I think he thought he was being invited in to partake of it....

Avignon tomorrow!
