A huge privilege - an hour this afternoon talking with Tuesday's organist, Tom Fetherstonhaugh, over every page of the graphic score of Ligeti's compelling Volumina.

I spent the morning reading up on how organs work, finding out about Ligeti and watching a YouTube video of the music being played while (some of) the pages of the score were shown so I could understand as much as possible of what he had to tell me.

I learnt such a lot. So kind.
