"Look for signs that summer's done...."

Words of a song from the very first school I taught at. I still know all the words and am sure it continues to be used my many music teachers and sung in assemblies today.

After a wonderful morning service when two young sisters were baptised and gave really motivating testimonies, we decided to seize the day again. Not enough time left for a much time out but delighted with where we ended up. Very local too which is always good.

Heathfield Ecology centre and woods, http://croydon-ecology.org.uk/ were a blaze of autumn colour. Some fruits left in the orchard, grapes on the vine, fungi under the trees, pine cones galore, carpets of crushed acorns, and a surfeit of sweet chestnuts there for the gathering. Too much for one photo, hence a collage, and still with some photos to spare.
