Midnight Snowstorm
There is such joy in waking up to fresh snowfall. I don't know if it has something to do with that childhood excitement of school vacation and outdoor fun, or maybe an adult version of the same. It could be sensory- Jason and I call it the giant eraser. That layer of crystal white extinguishes all of the muddy decomposition of fall, with its smells, sounds, as well as its visual assault. Replaced by the still, quiet, monochromatic blanket of white.
We spent the night here at the Peterson Lake cabin with two new friends- Hali and Nate. I love that Hali spells her name just like my hometown, I guess we are meant to be friends.
