Scorpion Diorama - Number One

I call this number one as you are likely to see a number of diorama over the winter season.

I had good fun with this! A few days ago I collected and dried some sand from the heath. Whilst Lady D played with a beetle, I found a bowl, sifted the sand and cut out a bit of a table cloth to make the scorpion's towel. Using a bamboo skewer and a circle of tissue for the umbrella the scene was still a little empty. A quick rummage found a loose pearl for a beach ball, a pebble and some oyster shells from West Wittering beach to complete the scene.

Lady D is up from Bristol for the weekend. It's good to have her back. We're off on a shoot tomorrow and destined to get very wet. I doubt it will be a day to take a camera so you may see another invention tomorrow evening.

Happy Friday everyone!
