Another great vacation day ....

.... another collage!

Today we felt the effects of Hurricane Michael even though we are in Western North Carolina and not near Florida.  It rained just about ALL DAY!  The lower right picture was taken from our deck ..... under all that mist is the lake!!!

But we didn't let that stop us from getting out.  We spent most of the afternoon in Chimney Rock and back and forth on the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge.  What a beautiful place .... and you can see from my collage that there are still many butterflies taking advantage of the beautiful flowers.  We were hoping to see some hummingbirds like the last time we were here ..... but sadly we didn't see any. 

Chimney Rock is a small tourist town that offers lots of little shops and also the entrance to Chimney Rock State Park (upper right picture).  Many years ago (before I was blipping!) we walked all of the trails in the park so we haven't visited it for years. But it's always fun to visit all the shops.  Inside of Bubba's I came across the Squirrel Underpants that I have pictured in my collage .... aren't they fun!?!? I just want to know how you would ever get them on a squirrel!
