A splash of wet colour

Decided to strech my legs this morning, before the rain arrived and I only just made it. On route I saw this cheerful and bright flower (I think it may be a forsythia) hanging over someones gate, I wasn't sure if there was enough light for a close up but I took the chance and I think I just about got away with it.
It's always a bit smelly when I go for a walk in the village at this time of year because a lot of people have their woodburners going and you very often see the smoke pouring out of the chimneys, puts me in mind of victorian London with the pea-souper fog - that's progress for you!
