Dirty Double
This was the weekend of the Lakeland Trails "Dirty Double" - two days of trail runs in the Lake District - the finale of the season. A and I did it the last three years but we missed the discounted early entry fees this year and, as it's an expensive weekend anyway, we gave it a miss.
One of the things that makes today's (DD) run attractive is the Lakeland Steamer cruise up Ullswater to the start point. The last three years we were disappointed as the steamers couldn't sail because of high winds.
Today was almost windless but the steamers didn't sail because there was TOO MUCH WATER in the lake! Really. Storm Callum has dumped so much water on the Lake District that the water level was too high for the steamers to berth safely. Apparently that's seven years running (pardon the pun) that the steamers have been cancelled - surely time for the event organisers to think of another method of getting runners to the start. Or change the route.
So today I did the second run of my own personal Dirty Double by running my "Arthur's Seat via Duddingston" route.

Oh, and the BBC used my WeatherWatchers photo on tonight's weather forecast. Which was nice.
