Shoreflected

Out early(ish) with the intention of having a walk, getting a Blip and having a run before Getting On With Business.

Two out of three...

I walked down to Ocean Terminal shopping centre to see what was happening in Leith Docks and maybe get a blip.  Unusually, I took the lift to the rooftop car-park (or "Leith Docks Viewpoint" as I'd call it) and on the way up one of the centre's security guards got in. I thought this was a bit odd as there was nothing but car-park above the level he joined me at.

We went our separate ways at roof level.  I was disappointed that the boat I hoped to get a shot of was obscured by Britannia.  Security was doing a round of the stairwells and when he came near me I got my camera out so that he didn't think I was just standing there contemplating jumping off (it happens).  This had the opposite of my desired effect and drew him in!   He very politely explained that, due to various sensitive activities that occur within the docks, photography is not allowed  [Ha Ha!  He wasn't there the day I photographed the French submarine!].   As there was fuck all nothing of interest to photograph I compliantly stowed my camera.  We then had a rather surreal conversation regarding a dead dog (friend of a friend's dog had drowned in the dock and it's body hadn't been found) and I think he thought I'd made the whole thing up.  We parted cordially.

I then walked home via Lidl [now just realising that I forgot to scoff the garlic stuffed olives I was so looking forward to scoffing!] and then went for a run.

I extended my "Arthur's Seat via Duddingston" route by going down to the old boathouse by the loch. I'd taken a little compact camera but none of the snaps are worth sharing.

For a Monday afternoon in October it was surprisingly busy on Arthur's Seat.
