Light through trees

I suppose I should really blip a picture of our destination - Mull - but I couldn't resist choosing as my blip some amazing light through trees which we experienced as we drove up the west wide of Loch Awe this morning. We were going to take the main road between Ford and Oban, but the A816 was blocked north of Kimelford due to a serious accident in which unfortunately someone died. P phone shortly after leaving to let us know about this, so we had a chance to choose a different route and avoid the scene completely.

It was therefore a tragic accident which led us to experience an amazing inversion all the way up Loch Awe. We stopped off a couple of times to take photographs. I chose this photograph because many years ago, not long after Mr A and I met, I used to paint light through trees...almost obsessively. Some friends have examples of the genre, and there are plenty still left in our storage facility.

We got to Oban in good time, and despite refueling the car and picking up some bits and pieces in the relatively newly opened M&S Foodhall, we were still quite early for the ferry. So early that we were stashed onto the previous one, as the second to the last car. This meant we were in plenty of time to enjoy a sunny afternoon on Mull - lunch at Cafe Fish, a wee bit of shopping in Tobermory, a wander at Calgary Bay and finally some evening light over Ben More (Mull) (see extra).

We have limited internet this week, but there will definitely be sufficient for blipping.
