My usual Monday morning meeting in Manchester. 

Returning to Salford, and as it was en route,  I called in to the cathedral to have the briefest of looks at the six big pencil portraits made by Kosuke Iizawa (an example in the extra). They are elderly agricultural workers from Gunma Prefecture, Japan, and are part of the Asia Triennial currently exhibiting in a number of locations across Manchester.

A few tables were laid out in preparation for something which looked very much like "play" to me. I passed them by.
