This morning there was another straight line of cloud with wispy bands and a bright blue sky beyond with the cloud then giving way to a day of sunshine.  The passengers on the left side of that Edinburgh bound plane will have had a marvellous view to the north and west towards Edinburgh, the hills and distant mountains whereas those sitting on the right will have seen the bank of cloud obscuring the landscape.   An hour later the sky was almost totally clear.
