Digging Deep

I went down onto the harbour today, the first time for ages. The sun was shining but the temperature was barely above freezing. There were a lot of people taking advantage of the break in the weather, walking out on the harbour arm, sat in cars reading papers, drinking coffee from flasks or just looking out across the Moray Firth. Just below the tide line is a sand bar where all the harbour bird life congregate but just to one side was a shallow pool with this one Redshank ignoring the rest, getting on with digging deep into the sand for one last morsel before the tide came in and made the job impossible.
