First mince pie of the season

Rainy lunchtime so I headed off to the DIY store to get some paint for son number two's bedroom. We were hoping to get this started before Christmas but with colds and visitors, we've not really started.

Book group this evening. We were discussing Ernest Hemingway's The sun also rises. Interesting discussions about the life of the author, the style of the writing and the era.

We're hoping that our next book, on order since October, will be delivered in time for us to read it in November ready for our December meeting.

Book group snacks and nibbles are always good - these mini mince pies were the first of the season.
