The Labour Party goes for a walk
I joined a few of the local Labour party for a walk from Haltwhistle today. Anne, who is on our Walking Festival committee had organised it. We did about 5 miles along the river and back on the South Tyne Trail.
Arth was on good form until about half a mile from the end, when he started to grumble. He did well after last week's problems.
Those of you who read last night's commentary know that I was at the theatre watching a play based in the male locked ward at our local Psychiatric Hospital. I had worked there in 1998.
Today, one of the walkers was Ray, who also worked there at that time. He is at the right of the image with his hands on his left hip. We know a lot of the same people so did a bit of reminiscing. Small world, particularly following on from last night.
After the walk we had lunch in the Pillar Box Café, which is painted an appropriate colour! Strategies were discussed. It was very interesting and a great group of people to get to know better.
I'm going to see the news and watch a rather larger walk that happened in London today.
