Entwined

This lizard nearing the end of this long summer’s lease was investigating a skein of hanging sisal bailer twine.

They are such lovely creatures with whom to share the house and its outdoor spaces. Yesterday a sparrowhawk zeroed in on one close by.

Big moths punctuate the evening sky, a lone fox (volpe) barks from beyond Gianni’s, the last walnuts fall amongst the accumulating husks of autumn and the ‘casha’ leaves turn a bright lemony yellow in the low slung sun.

The CALS came for a bbq and brought a lovely hillside of food. We snuck into the house when the evening chill got too much and lit another fire. They camped (see extra) tucked in behind one of the terraces to sleep beneath brilliant stars and the distant thump of the River Piper disco.
