The Angle of the Dangle

....is straight down, which is why I didn't see this rather late flowering clematis in my garden until I had been out there quite a while. I was hunting for something colourful to photograph because it has been another dreadful week in the UK with torrential rain and flooding and an injection of cheerfulness was required. Although Scotland seems to be getting the wet stuff, the sun came out in the southeast today and the sunlight was filtering through these petals as I took the shot. There are more buds on it - I wonder if it will still be in flower at Christmas?
