Disney Baby
Audrey was great last night, waking at 1am for a feed, briefly again around 5am for her dummy, then up at 7.30am this morning. I don't normally mention Audrey's sleep on blip as it has never really improved. She still wakes almost every hour or so most nights from 1am onwards. But last week we dropped the dreamfeed at 10pm and she has been getting steadily better ever since.
I do hope it continues.
We coined the phrase Disney Baby for her lately as not only is she unbelievably cute but she seems so much more settled and happy. She laughs and chortles and just seems to be loving exploring her new world. It is so different to those early months. The relief is palpable and spending time with her is mostly a joy these days.
Which is probably why I see so much of my sisters at the moment. Both were here today taking it in turns to play with her or push the pram. They were being polite with one-another but I could tell they both wanted to be holding her (often at the same time), "You have her", "No you", "It's OK, it's your turn", "Well if you don't mind.."etc. etc.
Audrey is enjoying her food too and devours her two meals a day with gusto. We were lazy and started her on Ella's Kitchen pouches, only introducing real food in the last week which it turns out was a bit of an error. My carrot, parsnip and sweet potato mash was met with a look of disgust on its debut. It has since been disguised with baby rice which seems to be doing the trick.
She favours the sweet stuff though and will take almost half an hour to eat a vegetable meal, yet guzzles a fruit version in minutes. I had a sweet tooth (hankerings for ice cream) whilst I was pregnant. Now I know why!
In short, am really enjoying her though. These feel like the good days and wouldn't swap 5 month Audrey for 5 day Audrey if you paid me! Hope the good times keep rolling with my little cherub!
