HUNDERTWASSER HAUS
My entry for the wide wednesday challenge. Huge thanks to BobsBlip for hosting.
Yesterday evening it had started to rain and storm, and in the morning it still rained. A slow start for us.
Then we took the U Bahn no.4 to the Landstrasse. A bit difficult to know in which direction we should walk for our visit the Hundertwasser House.
We drank first an espresso at the Starbucks, and looked at the map till we understood where the Donau canal was.
We walked to the Kegelgasse and at the end of this street there it was.
Of course I tried to take a frontal photo, but it was no good. Now you see the corner of the huge building. I had never seen this house, neither had Piet Hein.
We walked to the Donau canal from there and followed a path along it.
At some point we saw the Museum Hundertwasser in the Kunst Haus Wien, and entered it, not knowing if we would visit the museum.
We ate our sandwich on a bench inside, and had made a decision to enter the museum. A good decision. We both enjoyed it so much.
There was a storey higher a photo exhibition with the theme: Still leben.
Very inspiring!
It was dry when we left there, but rather cold.
Along the Donau canal we came upon the Urania building and then at the Schwedenplatz. In no time we were back home with the swift U 4.
Thank you all so very much for the lovely comments, stars and hearts on the two butterflies. The flowers in the butterfly house were made of silk, drenched with nectar for the insects, I forgot to tell.
