Danse Macabre?
The theme of today's singing workshop was, unsurprisingly, Hallowe'en. More specifically Scottish Hallowe'en traditions. The leader was Dr Margaret Bennett, a folklorist, singer and storyteller, and she was brilliant. We laughed, we sang, we even cried a little, and generally listened, spellbound, while she described the Hallowe'ens of her childhood in the Hebrides fifty years ago. It brought back memories to many of us of things we hadn't thought about in years.
Afterwards, on our way to the bus-stop, I saw these dancing skeletons in the window of a physiotherapist's in Bruntsfield. I played with them a bit for a Silly Saturday submission (thank you Admirer, for keeping the fun going).
