First fire

First fire of the season and it's lovely.  The house feels warm and toasty. 

Lie-in this morning, which was amazing, but the house was so eerily quiet and I immediately would have traded my lie-in for the usual 6.30 wake up call to have the boys back.  We did, however, get lots done this morning and it was great to have some time just the two of us.

Picked up the boys just after lunch, they were delayed on the train and so had time to sneak into T K Maxx and came out with a new cashmere jumper - oooops.  Feeling incredibly indebted to my sister for looking after the boys and bringing them back on the train.  The youngest didn't have a great night and was asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car, then when he did wake up, refused to be anywhere but with me for about an hour.  The eldest had a brilliant time with his cousins and spent most of the afternoon on a bit of a high, until just before supper where he crashed and burned - with lots of tears.  Both were more than ready for bed.
