Tintin on the move
The boys and I headed down to Dundee tonight for the Light Night extravaganza (think Christmas lights switch on with all manner of other things going on around the city centre at the same time).
We got the train after school and work and had the pleasure of our pals joining us for part of their journey (all of ours). They were supposed to be swopping trains earlier but we convinced them to stay on and swop at Dundee and I think the draw of seats they knew they could sit in and episodes of Tintin on the ipad helped sway the decision.
Once in Dundee, we saw mass crowds and bright lights, DC Thompson animations projected onto the sides of buildings, our names literally written in the sky, a small procession made up of a pipe band, a dragon and Banananman (perhaps only in Dundee?), a nativity play on the stage in the freezing cold, pretty much all the exhibits of the open for free Science Museum, including a late night Solar System show, and a firework display to round the evening off. Pretty good stuff all in all.
Disappointingly, we didn't manage to get close up to Dennis the Menace although the older one did spot him on the big screen, so we know we were nearby!
