Belated

My wonderful southerly sister-in-law celebrated her birthday today. Alas the parcel I have for her (and this card) are still in my bag, in my house and not even en route to her yet. I hope to rectify that on Monday. I'm being abit useless with November birthdays this year.

(Watch out S, your present will only arrive on time if M&S's free international delivery is super speedy).

My southerly sister-in-law has to be just about the most lovely a person you could ever meet. She is always kind and thoughtful and generous with everyone she meets. Her thoughtfulness is borne out in many ways, not least in the letters she writes and the parcels she sends. She values friendships, keeping up with folks all over the country, making an effort to take the time to write, to call, to visit.

I'm always amazed at her genuine interest and love for my boys. She has three gorgeous boys of her own and yet whenever our family are all together she makes time to spend time with each of my three; chatting about their interests, reading stories, playing games with them. Her auntie qualities far surpass mine and I have a lot to live up to.

So dear R, happy birthday to you and while your present and your card may still be in the frozen north, have a blip instead with lots of love down in the sunny south.

And a quick wee journal entry.... Fast dash to kintore library first thing to pick up book 6 of series 1 of beast quest for the eldest this morning and then back for rugby for the middle one. An afternoon of home entertainment and then a fish supper for tea (lovely husband and his quality healthy cooking is still away, er cooking) before baths and bed all round.
