Wind in the Willow

The sunrise brought welcome warmth and dispersed the mist from in the valley. Sleepy folk, up early and lighting the Rayburn, sent unknown signals on the breeze.

Shutter fingers became numb, and lenses clouded.

Eyes scanned the willows for deer, seen too late, beyond the orchard.
